Child Seats at Gatwick North and South
Child seats are free in every MPV and £10 in an estate. Saloons and executive cars cannot carry one at all — so if a child is travelling, book an MPV or an estate. Two or more seats need an MPV. Your own seat is welcome at no charge.

Frequently Asked questions
Everything you need to know about our London transfer service.
QAre child seats free?
In an MPV, yes — infant carriers, child seats and boosters are all included at no charge, and an MPV is what we recommend for families anyway. An estate can take one seat for a £10 supplement, because estates do not carry seats permanently and one has to be fitted for your journey. Saloons and executive cars cannot take a child seat at all.
QCan I have a baby seat in a saloon car?
No. Saloons and executive cars in our fleet cannot carry a child seat. If you tell us a child is travelling we will not offer you those vehicles, so you are not left at the airport with a car your child cannot legally travel in. Choose an MPV, or an estate if you need a single seat.
QWhat if I need two child seats?
You need an MPV. An estate can take one seat only. Two or more seats — for example an infant carrier and a booster for an older sibling — need the space of an MPV, where both are included at no extra charge.
QWhat types of child seat do you have?
Three. An infant carrier for 0 to 13 kg (birth to around 15 months, rear-facing); a child seat for 9 to 18 kg (roughly 9 months to 4 years, forward-facing with a 5-point harness); and a high-back booster for 15 to 36 kg (roughly 4 to 12 years). Tell us your child’s age and weight when booking and we will bring the right one.
QWill the seat already be fitted when the driver arrives?
Yes. The seat is fitted before your driver comes to collect you, so you can load the luggage and buckle in without standing in a car park working it out. If you would rather fit it yourself, or you have brought your own, the driver will help.
QCan I bring my own child seat instead?
Yes, at no charge, in any vehicle that can take one. Some parents prefer a seat their child is used to, or need one for the flight anyway. The driver will help fit it. Note that a saloon still cannot take a seat, even your own.
QHow long is a child legally required to use a seat?
Until they are 12 years old or 135 cm tall, whichever comes first. After that they use an adult seat belt. If you are unsure which seat your child needs, tell us their age and weight and we will advise.
QDo you cover both Gatwick terminals?
Yes, North and South, with no surcharge for either. They are a shuttle ride apart, so tell us which one you actually need when booking and your driver will meet you there rather than at the other end of the airport.
QWhat happens if my flight into Gatwick is delayed?
We track your inbound flight and move the pickup to the real landing time at no extra charge, with free waiting afterwards. You will not be paying for a car that is sitting there while you wait for the pram.
QHow can I be sure the child seat will actually be in the car?
Tell us at the time of booking rather than in a message afterwards, and the requirement is recorded against the booking itself and passed to the driver with the job. The seat is fitted before you are collected. If a child is on the booking we will not offer you a saloon or executive car, because those cannot take a seat at all. If you want certainty on the day, message or call us that morning and we will confirm it with the driver directly — we would much rather answer that than have you find out at the kerb.
QDo you have rear-facing seats for a newborn?
Yes. Our infant carrier is rear-facing and covers 0 to 13 kg, from birth to around 15 months. It is free in any MPV or larger vehicle. If your baby is very young, say so when booking and we will make sure the carrier goes on the job rather than a forward-facing seat.
QMy baby is 10 months but weighs 13 kg. Which seat is right?
Weight decides, not age. The rear-facing infant carrier covers 0 to 13 kg, and the forward-facing child seat starts at 9 kg and runs to 18 kg — so at 13 kg your child is at the top of one and already inside the other. Tell us the weight as well as the age when you book and we will bring the one that fits, rather than assuming from the birthday.
QCan I have two child seats in one vehicle?
Yes, in an MPV, where both are free. An estate can take one seat only, for a £10 supplement. So an infant carrier for the baby plus a booster for an older sibling means an MPV — and the MPV is the sensible choice anyway once you add the pram and the cases.
