Child & Baby Seats — What to Carry, What to Buy
Free child seats are BA Transfer's biggest promise to families — and drivers who carry the full set get priority on every family, cruise and US-tourist booking. Here's exactly what each seat type on a booking means, and the R129-approved seats we recommend.
Infant Seats
Birth – 12 months (rear-facing)Shown on bookings as "Infant Seats". Newborns and babies up to roughly 12 months must travel in a rear-facing infant carrier. Fit it on the back seat — never on a front seat with an active airbag.
Joie i-Juva R129 i-Size Birth to 12 Months Car Seat
Rear-facing infant carrier · 40–75 cm (birth to ~12 months) · lightweight with carry handle
Child Seats
Approx. 9 months – 7 years (forward-facing, harnessed)Shown on bookings as "Child Seats". Toddlers and young children need a forward-facing harnessed seat. The two below convert through multiple stages, so one purchase covers most child-seat bookings.
Cuggl R129 Isofix 123 Car Seat
Groups 1/2/3 · 76–150 cm (~9 months to 12 years) · ISOFIX — one seat covers child AND booster bookings

Booster Seats
Approx. 6 – 12 years (100–150 cm)Shown on bookings as "Booster Seats". Older children up to 12 years or 135 cm must still use a booster by law. A high-back booster gives the best protection; the cushion is a compact backup to keep in the boot.
