Heathrow Terminal 4 Pick-Up Point Has Changed: The 2026 Park & Ride Guide
Quick answer
Heathrow closed the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park on 23 June 2026 for redevelopment. All Terminal 4 parking, pick-ups and drop-offs have moved to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride on Scylla Road (TW6 3XL), with a free shuttle bus running between the Park & Ride and the terminal. If you've booked a BA Transfer airport transfer from Terminal 4, your driver now meets you at the Park & Ride (Zone A) — after you land, take the free shuttle from Terminal 4 and your driver will be waiting. Meeting at the Park & Ride also means you skip Heathrow's new £7–£25 Terminal 4 forecourt pick-up charge.
What has changed at Heathrow Terminal 4?
From 23 June 2026, Heathrow permanently closed the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park (the old Terminal and Meet & Greet parking) as part of a major programme to rebuild and modernise the Terminal 4 forecourt. With the car park gone, there is no longer a kerbside short-stay area right outside the terminal where cars can wait.
Instead, all Terminal 4 passenger parking, pick-ups and drop-offs have moved to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride, a short distance away on Scylla Road. Heathrow runs a free, frequent shuttle bus between the Park & Ride and the terminal so passengers can get to and from their flights easily.
Where will my BA Transfer driver meet me now?
For Terminal 4 pickups, your driver waits for you at the Terminal 4 Park & Ride, Zone A (Scylla Road, Heathrow, Hounslow, TW6 3XL). This is the official waiting area now that the terminal car park has closed — and because the Park & Ride allows up to 29 minutes free, your driver can wait there while you make your way over.
Here's exactly how your arrival works:
- Land and collect your bags at Terminal 4 as normal. We track your flight, so a delay is no problem.
- Follow the signs for the Park & Ride shuttle bus from the Arrivals level — the free shuttle departs from the marked bus stops just outside Terminal 4 Arrivals.
- Ride the free shuttle to the Park & Ride — a short hop of around 10–15 minutes.
- Meet your driver in Zone A. They'll be waiting with your name, ready to help with your luggage and get you on your way.
Your booking confirmation and driver details spell this out too, and your driver will be in touch on the day.
Dropping off at Terminal 4 (departures)
The same applies in reverse. For departures, your driver drops you at the Terminal 4 Park & Ride (Zone A) and you take the free shuttle bus the short distance to the terminal in time for check-in. We recommend allowing an extra 20–30 minutes for the shuttle transfer, especially at busy times.
The free Terminal 4 shuttle bus — what to expect
- Cost: free for all passengers.
- Frequency: regular throughout the day — Heathrow runs the shuttle frequently between Zone A and the terminal doors.
- Journey time: roughly 10–15 minutes door to door.
- Where to catch it: the marked Park & Ride bus stops directly outside Terminal 4 Arrivals.
For the latest official times and prices, see Heathrow's own guidance on the changes to Terminal 4 and the Terminal 4 Park & Ride pages.
Why has Heathrow done this?
The closure is part of a long-planned redevelopment of the Terminal 4 forecourt and car parks. Heathrow says the work will modernise the terminal's road layout and parking and improve the passenger experience. The car park is expected to stay closed for the duration of the works, so the Park & Ride arrangement is the new normal for the foreseeable future.
Heathrow's new Terminal 4 pick-up charges — and how we save you them
Alongside the car-park closure, Heathrow introduced a paid Terminal 4 Priority Pick Up zone on the terminal forecourt, run by APCOA and enforced automatically by number-plate cameras. Unlike the old kerbside arrangement, there is no free period — charging starts the moment a vehicle enters the zone:
| Time in the Priority Pick Up zone | Charge |
|---|---|
| 0–10 minutes | £7.00 |
| 11–29 minutes | £14.00 |
| 30–60 minutes | £25.00 |
| Each additional hour | £25.00 (max £200 per day) |
The fee has to be paid online or by phone by midnight the day after your visit. Miss it and Heathrow issues a £80 Parking Charge (reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days). Because international arrivals often take more than 10 minutes once you add immigration and baggage reclaim, that forecourt fee can climb quickly.
This is exactly why your BA Transfer driver meets you at the Park & Ride (Zone A) instead. The free shuttle bus and the Park & Ride's free short-stay window mean you skip the Priority Pick Up tariff altogether — there's no forecourt charge added to your fixed fare, and no risk of a missed-payment penalty. For the full official detail, see Heathrow's Terminal 4 Priority Pick Up page.
How this affects your airport transfer
The good news: with BA Transfer it changes very little for you. We've already updated our Terminal 4 pickups so your driver heads straight to the Park & Ride, and your fixed-price quote still covers the full meet-and-greet — no car-park surcharge and no hunting for a car in a busy terminal. Our drivers know the new Zone A meeting point and the shuttle routine inside out.

Where is the Heathrow Terminal 4 pick-up point now?
Since 23 June 2026, the Terminal 4 pick-up and drop-off point is Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride on Scylla Road, Heathrow, Hounslow, TW6 3XL. The old Terminal 4 multi-storey car park has closed for redevelopment.
How do I get from Terminal 4 to the Park & Ride?
Take Heathrow's free shuttle bus, which runs regularly between Terminal 4 Arrivals and the Park & Ride (Zone A). The ride takes around 10–15 minutes.
Will my BA Transfer driver still meet me?
Yes. Your driver waits for you in Zone A of the Park & Ride. After you land and collect your bags, take the free shuttle from Terminal 4 to the Park & Ride and your driver will be there to meet you.
Is there an extra charge because of the change?
No. Your BA Transfer fare is fixed and already includes meet-and-greet and flight tracking. There's no car-park surcharge for the new Park & Ride meeting point.
Will I have to pay Heathrow's Terminal 4 pick-up charge?
No. Heathrow's Terminal 4 Priority Pick Up forecourt charges from £7 (and £14–£25+ for longer waits), but your BA Transfer driver meets you at the Park & Ride (Zone A), where the free shuttle and free short-stay window mean there's no forecourt pick-up fee added to your fixed fare.
How long should I allow for the shuttle?
Allow roughly 20–30 minutes end to end for the walk to the bus stop, the shuttle ride and meeting your driver — a little more at peak times. For departures, build this in before your check-in deadline.
Is the Terminal 4 car park closure permanent?
The car park is closed for the duration of Heathrow's Terminal 4 redevelopment, so the Park & Ride arrangement is in place for the foreseeable future. Always check your booking confirmation for the latest meeting instructions.
